Lumafield is here to make it possible for humanity to solve our hardest problems as quickly as possible.

At Lumafield, we live by our core values. We believe in speed, tenacity, excellence, integrity, and thoughtfulness.

Excellence

At Lumafield, excellence isn't about doing perfect work, it's about what we work on: we tackle the hardest problems first, we build the right-sized solutions, and we ship product that will transform the lives of our users.

Integrity

We do what we say we are going to do. We are one team, support each other, and respectfully hold ourselves and others accountable.

Thoughtfulness

We share openly, listen with humility, and learn together. We lead with empathy, we disagree and commit, and we always deliver together

Speed

Lumafield's greatest advantage is speed. We do the best work of our careers when we ship products faster for less money than anyone else would dare attempt.

Tenacity

At Lumafield. we find a way or make a way. Process is secondary to results. We relentlessly drive towards outcomes and adapt and adopt the means necessary to achieve them.

Ryan Donaldson

With an educational background in Physics, Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering Ryan Donaldson was specifically looking for opportunities in the imaging field after graduation. When he came across Lumafield he was most excited to work on a small team tackling a multitude of complex issues. Since joining Ryan said “I initially joined for the technology and creative business ideas but have stayed because of the people and speed we are working at. Everyone here is not only smart but they genuinely want to see me succeed! We work our hardest to problem solve for our customers - and always have fun doing it”

Elizabeth Mittmann

Elizabeth has always been interested in the interfaces between hardware and software engineering. Her past work in aerospace and surgical robotics showed her the importance and need for easy-to-use industrial inspection technology. Holding titles from Mechanical Engineer to Integration Engineer, to currently an R&D Engineer – working at Lumafield enables her to continue work on a wide range of interests and passions. She says “I’ve worked with sales to identify needs and build out R&D prototypes to figure out what can have the biggest impact for our customers, I’m the go to person for scanner’s capabilities in terms of what part materials and part sizes are scannable, I’ve planned and implemented both hardware and software improvements to our scanners…” amongst many other things.

Willie Hartman

Willie Hartman is Lumafield’s Design Lead, he joined in March 2021 and has been making significant impact since day 1. When asked what his favorite part about working at Lumafield is he said, “how fast we are moving. There is distributed ownership and a speed of decision making I haven’t seen before.” He is most proud of launching Voyager. The team designed and shipped our cloud backed CT analysis environment in record time because we made the right compromises.

Linda Wang

Linda is a Technical Program Manager on Lumafield’s Software team. When asked why she wanted to join Lumafield she said, “There’s a lot of really smart people here solving really hard problems and the growth potential seems limitless, but what convinced me to take the jump were the people and culture. Even in my interview process, the interview panel exhibited values of transparency and collaboration, especially in my TAP (take home project). After starting, I can happily report that the people and the culture is definitely the highlight of working at Lumafield.

Caitlin Reyda

Caitlin Reyda, Engineering Program Manager, joined Lumafield in May 2021. Starting out on the East coast and then moving out to San Francisco, she has a unique perspective on Lumafield’s culture. Prior to joining the team Caitlin has worked on shipping multiple products on fast growing teams, an experience that has made her extremely valuable to the team. In her time at Lumafield two things have stood out - the amazing people and technology.“I wish I could have used this tool in my engineering career - it could have helped me answer a lot of questions and solve problems a lot faster.”
